RAJA YOGA PRANAYAMA

Beginners' Course and Follow-up students' retrite are scheduled to be held during the first two weeks in August 2011. The exact dates will be informed later.


Pranayama is the ancient art of tapping energy through relaxed sitting, breathing and the use of Mudras. Pranayama has been understood to be of great help to individuals for maintaining good health and for helping one find a new energy. The practice of Pranayama involves learning effortlessness as well the right kind of effort.

In this course the participants will be guided into the practice of RAJA YOGA PRANAYAMA.
The programme will consist of instruction and practice sessions along with lecture and theory sessions.
The classes will guide one from right sitting to natural breathing followed by ventilation of the lobes of the lungs and the use of Mudras along with breathing. Mudras can also be used to direct Prana to centres of quietness within ourselves. Prana kriyas, the use of Mudras, without including breathing, will also be taught in this programme. Included in the programme are 'walking Pranayama' and relaxation Pranayama.

The venue is a beautiful place located about 120 km from Helsinki and offers accommodation for about 60 people with vegetarian food and sauna facilities on the edge of a scenic lake.
